Goals
Bella Terra (formerly known as Kolob Regional Care Center) is a short and long term care and nursing facility. Student volunteers will mostly assist with activities for residents, including events to assist with their physical and mental capabilities. Students are encouraged to bring their own activity, such as a musical talent, games, or educational demonstrations. Some opportunities to help in PT or OT are also available. In addition, students can assist in updating the physical facilities, cleaning equipment, and interacting one-on-one with residents. Students who volunteer more than 20 hours per month are required to pass a background check. Volunteers should plan on doing set hours per week for more than a semester to get the most out of this experience. To volunteer, students should stop by Bella Terra and get a volunteer application. Questions can be directed to Sally Naylor regarding volunteering. Opportunities to work as a CAN are also available for students with certain certifications.
