Utah Health Scholars has opened up doors that I never could have opened on my own. It has introduced me to people who I wouldn’t have met without the UHS experience, and through meeting those individuals, has created additional opportunities that I never would have been possible without UHS. It has given me the opportunity to help others the way I have been helped. I am extremely grateful for my experience with the Utah Health Scholars.

UHS provides students with everything that you need and more. When I first started out I had no idea what was expected of a UHS Pre-Nursing student. UHS helped me understand what I needed to do to get into the nursing program, what it’s like to be a nurse on a day to day basis, and to gain experience. I’ve been in the Pre-Nursing track from the very beginning and it’s helped me get to where I am today. I was in the first group of students that was able to complete the entire UHS Pre-Nursing track.

I was a high school science teacher and wanted to go to medical school, but didn’t know how to make the jump. Many people questioned why I would leave a stable career path to go back to school and it was somewhat discouraging. Despite quitting my teaching job and moving my wife and family from California, I was able to make my dream become a reality with the help of Utah Health Scholars. They were the link between me quitting my job and matriculating into medical school.
